Floor Hand – Water Well Drilling Rig
Position Summary:
The Floor Hand is an entry-level field position responsible for assisting the driller and crew in the safe and efficient operation of a water well drilling rig. This role involves hands-on physical labor, equipment handling, site preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe job site. The Floor Hand plays a critical role in supporting drilling operations while upholding company standards of integrity, safety, and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:

● Assist the Driller in daily rig operations
Handle drill pipe, casing, and tooling during tripping operations
Mix drilling fluids and monitor mud pits as directed
● Help set casing, well screens, and grout materials
● Assist with pump installation and well development activities

● Clean and maintain rig, support equipment, and tools
Perform basic preventative maintenance (greasing, fluid checks, cleaning)
Inspect hoses, fittings, and safety equipment
Load and unload trucks with materials and supplies
● Maintain organized and safe job site conditions

● Work closely with crew members to complete jobs efficiently
● Maintain professional conduct with landowners and customers
● Show up on time and ready to work
● Represent the company with integrity and respect at all times
Work Schedule:
● Full-time
● Overtime and occasional weekend work required
● Travel to various job sites

Qualifications:
Required:
● High school diploma or GED preferred
● Valid driver’s license and CDL is required.
● Ability to pass drug screening and background check
● Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
● Physically capable of lifting 75+ lbs repeatedly
● Willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed
Preferred (but not required):
● Previous construction, oilfield, or drilling experience
● Mechanical aptitude
● Equipment operation experience
Physical Requirements:
● Frequent lifting, bending, twisting, and climbing
● Standing for extended periods
● Working at heights and around heavy machinery
● Exposure to dust, mud, noise, and varying weather conditions
